FUNDING PRIORITIES

We are committed to work in the district to support the efforts of students and teachers. Program areas are designed to provide enrichment projects to enhance, supplement, or extend the educational services of Canyon ISD. Funding does not replace or alter use of funds from traditional tax-base sources.

Excellence Investments for Students: 

• ​Beginning in Fall 2013, student groups at any grade level may work with a faculty sponsor to apply for funding of worthwhile leadership and service projects on their campus or in the greater community.
• Along with the two $500 scholarships given annually to honor the students who receive the CHS Award and the RHS Sterling Award, eight new scholarships will be awarded in the spring of 2014..

Excellence Investments for District Employees:

• Twice a year Canyon ISD employees may submit proposals for Innovation Grants or Professional Development Grants.
• Beginning in Fall 2013, teachers new to Canyon ISD will be awarded New Teacher Startup gifts of $50 to go toward their new classrooms.

Excellence Investments for Campuses:

• Larger grants for innovative projects which assists students, teachers and/or staff achieve a new level of excellence.
• Support for innovative programs which are included in the campus/district improvement plans.
